Grammar Test Tomorrow- Contractions, Possessives, Adjectives

1. Be able the change contractions into their two-word equivalent.

2. Be able to turn two words into contractions with correct apostrophe usage. (The apostrophe stands in place for the missing letter(s).

3. Be able to write the correct possessive form for singular possessive, (the roar of the ocean = the ocean's roar)

4. Be able to write the correct possessive form for plural possessive (the desks of the students= the students' desks, OR the books of the children= the children's books.) Remember, if an "s" is needed to make the word plural, the apostrophe goes on the outside of the "s". This is also true with names, such as Charles or Davis, whose names end with "s".

5. Be able to label adjectives in a passage. remember to include articles (a, an, the) and possessive pronouns (his, her, their, our, etc.). Don't worry about possessive names (such as Tony's burger) but you may see some hyphenated words like the hamburger-eating hamster.)
